 Types of Indicators
Final Indicators – measure the effect of an intervention on individuals’ well-
being. Final indicators may be divided into outcome and impact indicators
 Impact Indicators – measure key dimensions of well-being, e.g.
freedom from hunger, literacy, good health, empowerment, security
 Outcome Indicators – capture access to, use of, or satisfaction with
the services provided or received, e.g. access to clean water,
proportion of mothers availing of family planning clinics, volume and
frequency of letters of complaints, etc.

Per capita means per person.

It is a Latin term that translates to "by the head." It's commonly used in

statistics, economics, and business to report an average per person. It
tells you how a country, state, or city affects its residents.

In statistics, it's used to compare the economic indicators of countries

with different population sizes. The most commonly measured indicators
that use per capita are gross domestic product and income. 
Per capita divides a statistical measurement for an organization by its population. The
formula is:
Measurement / Population = Measurement per Capita. 
If the measurement is small, like the incidence of diseases, then per capita is reported as
per 100,000 people. For example:
# of Heart Attacks / Population = Heart Attacks per Capita
Heart Attacks per Capita * 100,000 = Heart Attacks per 100,000.

GDP per capita is a country's economic output per person. GDP measures everything
produced within a country's borders. It's given for a quarter or a year. GDP per capita is a
country's GDP divided by its population.

Rationalized Planning Indicator
and Data Set (RaPIDS)
 The RaPIDS is a tool developed under the LGU PFM 2
Project that aims to guide local planners in identifying
development indicators that specifically applies to their LGU’s
needs and characteristics.
 RaPIDS still follow the principles of the LDIS which is based
on the LGU’s Vision and success indicators.
 RaPIDS only updated the indicators to make them consistent
with those required and accepted by NGAs and international
institutions.
 It also added several indicators required by recent statutes
such as DRR/CCA indicators and indicators used to
articulate certain thematic and sectoral concerns such as
gender and conflict sensitivity.
It also has specific indicators that LGUs may need should
they have particular development thrusts such as indicators
for tourism development and indicators that can help LGUs
identify PPAs to make themselves more business-friendly.
Indicators for specific ecosystems are also identified.
 RaPIDS aims to address the issue on data gathering by
helping planners identify indicators that apply to them and
those that they really need as compared to prescribing a
one size fits all data
 RaPIDs is ONLY a set of indicators and datasets. LDIs is a
system of helping planners analyze planning indicators
 RaPIDs will still follow the general template of the LDIS. The
only difference is that the list of indicators has been grouped
based on area characteristics and priority concerns
