REFLECTION

A POWERFUL TOOL- IN OUR JOURNEY


SENSE
CONTROL
BHAGAVA dhyāyato viṣayān puṁsaḥ
D GITA saṅgas teṣūpajāyate
saṅgāt sañjāyate kāmaḥ
kāmāt krodho ’bhijāyate

While contemplating the objects of


the senses, a person develops
attachment for them, and from such
attachment lust develops, and from
lust anger arises.
krodhād bhavati sammohaḥ
BHAGAVAD GITA sammohāt smṛti-vibhramaḥ
smṛti-bhraṁśād buddhi-nāśo
buddhi-nāśāt praṇaśyati

Translation
From anger, complete delusion
arises, and from delusion
bewilderment of memory. When
memory is bewildered, intelligence
is lost, and when intelligence is lost
one falls down again into the
material pool.
HARSANAM-ENGLADDENED

SENSE SMARANAM-CONSTANTLY REMEMBERING

ENJOYMEN ROCANAM-SENSES BECOME WILD AND DEMANDING

T- THE KARSHANAM-FRUSTRATION AS RESULT OF NOT ABLE

CAUSE OF TO FULLFILL DESIRE

SAMSARA
ROSHANAM-WEAK AND LOST OF ENERGY

HEAVEN
Warrior meets guru and asked
two questions….
1. What is the gateway to heaven ?
2. What is the gateway to hell ?
Guru asked, Who are you ?
I am a
powerful and
greatest
warrior of
this kingdom
Guru laughed and
said, You claim to be
a warrior, but you
look like a ruffian !
Warrior got insulted and placed a
sword at the Guru’s neck
The Guru said,
this is the
gateway to hell;
ANGER
Warrior felt
ashamed and asked
for forgiveness
This is the
answer for the
gateway to
heaven,
FORGIVENESS
CHAPTER 16: TEXT 21

tri-vidham narakasyedam
dvaram nasanam atmanah
kamah krodhas tatha lobhas
tasmad etat trayam tyajet

TRANSLATION

There are three gates leading to this


hell- lust, anger, and greed. Every sane
man should give these up, for they
lead to the degradation of the soul.
