in giving instructions. IMPERATIVES The imperative is used to give commands and orders. The form of the verb used for the imperative is the base form of the main verb, which is used without a subject. D E L I NE S GUI E N U S I N G WH THE E R A T IV E IM P M O O D KEEP IN MIND THE FOLLOWING: 1. The imperative verb is placed at the start of the sentence. Thus, the first letter of the verb is capitalized.
EXAMPLES:

KEEP IN MIND THE FOLLOWING: 2. The pronoun “you” is suggested; this means that the sentence is in the second-person point of view.
EXAMPLE:
