Cancer
Cancer is a general term that covers more than 100 conditions.
Although there are several types of cancer, all cancers start due to an abnormal cell
division, which gets out of control.
Untreated cancers are very serious and cause irreparable death.
The risk of cancer can be reduced by lifestyle changes: quitting smoking, limiting sun
exposure, regular physical activity and a healthy diet.
The sooner a cancer is detected and treated, the greater the chances of survival.
Cancer cells have the ability to metastasize, ie to migrate.
Over time, tumors replace the normal tissue of the organ in which it develops, so that
its proper functioning becomes impossible.
The most commonly used treatment methods in cancer are:
1. Surgery 2. Chemotherapy 3. Radiotherapy 4. Immunotherapy and vaccines 5. Bone
marrow transplantation and stem cell transplantation 6. Target therapy and
personalized therapy
Turbeculosis
Tuberculosis -- or TB, as it’s commonly called -- is a contagious infection
that usually attacks your lungs. It can spread to other parts of your body, like
your brain and spine. Today, most cases are cured with antibiotics. But it
takes a long time. You have to take meds for at least 6 to 9 months. A TB
infection doesn’t mean you’ll get sick. There are two forms of the disease:
Latent TB. You have the germs in your body, but your immune system stops
them from spreading. That means you don’t have any symptoms and you’re
not contagious.
Active TB. This means the germs multiply and can make you sick. You can
spread the disease to others.
Diabetes
Diabetes is the condition that affects the normal metabolism of the body
leading to alterations in the processing of the main compounds that help the
normal development of the body. In the genesis of diabetes are involved
both genetic factors (genetic predisposition of the individual to do the
disease) as well as environmental factors (nutrition, daily activity, physical
activity, pollution, etc.). Among the disabling complications we mention
the lower limb amputations, blindness, infarction, renal failure.
Down
syndrome
Your genes hold the keys to how your body looks and works. They’re behind everything from
your hair color to how you digest your food. So if something goes wrong with them, it can
have far-reaching effects.
People with Down syndrome are born with an extra chromosome. Chromosomes are bundles of
genes, and your body relies on having just the right number of them. With Down syndrome,
this extra chromosome leads to a range of issues that affect you both mentally and physically.
Down syndrome is a lifelong condition. Although it can’t be cured, doctors know more about it
now than ever. If your child has it, getting the right care early on can make a big difference in
helping him live a full and meaningful life.
Teens problems
Diseases that affect adolescents, students today are varied, but as a
result we learned what problems are facing our high school
students.
Most often children have headaches or gastric problems, and these
are often just a reason not to go to bed at all, but not all the time.
Others come with fever, viruses, colds or nasal bleeding, which are
real, and even with pancreatitis. Less often, but still encountered
are: bruises, fractures, various injuries, which can be quite serious.
But many of these are caused by the daily stress encountered
because of the complicated hours, also causing various disorders in
the body, but also psychological problems.
Psyhological
health
Depression has become the most common mental distress at the community level.
The causes of depression could not be fully elucidated, despite the efforts made. The current unanimous
vision of the researches and clinics imposes a bio-psycho-social model in which, at the onset of depression,
both biochemical disturbances in the brain contribute as well as psychological (fragile personalities) or social
causes (daily stress, negative life events, hostility of the environment etc.). In almost a quarter of cases,
the first depressive episode occurs as a reaction to a negative life event. Subsequently, the episodes can
be repeated without any apparent cause.
Of the general medical conditions that can favor the appearance of some states of depression, the most
common ones are neurological (cerebrovascular diseases, epilepsy), endocrinological (thyroid disorders and
other endocrine glands), infectious ones (HIV infection, mononucleosis, viral and bacterial pneumonia). ,
Tuberculosis) and inflammatory.
In women, menopause, premenstrual syndrome and recent birth represent additional possible causes for
depression.
The treatment of depression is a complex one comprising both the drug and the psychotherapeutic
approach. The two modes of intervention not only do not exclude each other but complement each other.
Stress is more and more common among people of all ages and, although it manifests
differently from one person to another, stress can have consequences both emotionally and
somatically, affecting the body.
Stress is essentially the response of our body to any form of possible threat. When you perceive
a danger - even if it is a real or imaginary one - the body responds to it automatically, through a
process called "fight or flight reaction".
From a physiological point of view, when a possible threat is perceived, the nervous system
responds by releasing stress hormones (such as adrenaline and cortisol), which activate the
body's state of emergency. Your heart beats, your muscles tighten, your blood pressure
increases, your breathing intensifies, and your senses become sharper. Thus, your body has
more energy and endurance, has a shorter response time, and is ready to fight or flee from
danger in order to survive.
