• I.T.C. Limited is an Indian multinational conglomerate company
headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal.

• Imperial Tobacco Company of India Limited is established in the year 1910.


the company was renamed the India Tobacco Company Limited in 1970 and
later to I.T.C. Limited in 1974.

• I.T.C. has a diversified presence across industries such as Cigarettes,


Packaging, FMCG, Hotels, Agribusiness, and Paperboards & Specialty
Papers.

• The company completed 100 years in 2010, as of 2019–20, had an annual


turnover of US$10.74 billion and a market capitalization of US$35 billion.
HISTORY OF ITC
• 24 Aug 1910 - ITC incorporated under the name of “ Imperial Tobacco Company of India
Limited”.

• 1925 – ITC’s Packaging & Printing Business Division was set up as a strategic backward
integration for ITC’s Cigarettes business.

• 1974 – The Company’s ownership progressively Indianised, and the name of the Company
was changed to ITC limited (Indian tobacco company).

• 1975 – The Company launched its HOTEL BUSINESS which was named “ITC- Welcome
group Hotel Chola”.

• 1979 – ITC entered the Paperboards Business by promoting. Bhadrachalam Paperboards


Limited, which today has become the market leader in India.

• 1985 – Surya Nepal Pvt. Ltd.


• 2010 - ITC completed 100 years of
journey.

• 2014 – ITC Launches online sales.

• Supply chain management is the handling
of the entire production flow of a good or
services – starting from the raw
components all the way to delivering the
final product to consumer.

• The main objective of supply chain


management is to monitor and relate
production, distribution, and shipment of
products and services.
INBOUND LOGISTICS
• An Inbound logistic is the process which include the movement
of raw material or finished goods from farmers, manufacturer,
or from suppliers to factory.

Objectives
 
• Ensure that material received, and related information make
available for all department. 
• Accept the material which is ordered and meet the specification
of requirement otherwise return it and make proper records.

Factors

• Farmer provide the raw material need for the manufacturing process
of items like tobacco for cigarettes.
• Some materials are directly imported from warehouses like the paper
needed for wrapping of cigarettes.
OUTBOUND LOGISTICS
• An Outbound logistics is the process which include storage, picking,
packing and delivering finished products to customers from a warehouse or
distribution center. It plays an important role in the success of the
company. 

Objectives
• Minimize the total cost.
• Maximize the unit fill rates.
• Maximize the resource utilization of the facilities in the network.

Factors
• Warehouse to keep the finished product safe and accessible. Currently ITC
has 62 warehouses.
• ITC has a good transportation network which deliver the goods on time
in minimum transportation cost.
• ITC maintain good relationship with wholesalers, distributers and
DISTRIBUTION CHANNEL OF ITC
• Distribution is one of the most vital part of Supply
Chain Management. Distribution is the process
through which a company delivers its products to
the ultimate consumer. ITC has a diversified
presence in hotels, packaging, agri-business,
cigarettes, personal care and other various type of
FMCG goods. ITC mainly uses distribution
channel for its FMCG goods.

• ITC follows a Three-tier distribution method.


Products are made available through Carrying and
Forwarding agents(C&F) to wholesalers to
retailers and then ultimately to the consumers.

• In case of E-commerce, the company follows a


direct distribution strategy. There are no

ITC CIGARETTE 
I
ITC is the market leader in cigarettes in
India. With its wide range of valuable
products, it holds a leadership position in all
segments of the market. The most popular
product portfolio includes Insignia, India
Kings, Classic, Gold Flake, Silk cut, Navy
cut, scissors, Berkeley, Bristol and Flake.
ITC cigarettes are manufactured at its state-
of-the-art factories in Bengaluru, Munger,
Saharanpur and Kolkata. These firms are
known for their high-quality standards,
modern technology and work environment. 
ITC SUPPLY CHAIN OF CIGRATTES
Here the raw material is the
tobacco leaf for cigarette
production and then the raw
tobacco undergoes a series of
processes to manufacture the final
product I.e cigarettes. Following, it
is stored in godowns until it is
finally exported to its distributors
that includes agents, wholesalers
and distributors, from where the
cigarette finally reaches the
ITC E-Choupal
The ITC program in E-Choupal is a powerful
example of a business model (which was
initiated by ITC for its business development
practices in its agri-sector) that brings a large
number of communities by building local
markets in partnership with local communities.
Recognizing the various challenges farmers
face such as segregated farms, weak
infrastructure and the involvement of multiple
mediators, ITC designed e-Choupal as a highly
efficient retailer that aims to bring value to its
customers worldwide on a sustainable basis.
While farmers benefit from increased farm
production and higher farm gate prices, ITC’s
Agri Business benefits from lower purchase
