GIVING INJECTION

DEFINITION

Injection it is a method
to give liquid medicine
into the body with a
syringe through the
skin.
PURPOSE

To achieve certain medical

goals. Starting from healing, to
preventting disease. Fluid given
by injection will usually be
adjusted to what the body needs,
pr as prescribed by the doctor.

A subcutaneous injection is
administered as a bolus into
the subcutis,the layer of skin
directly below the dermis and
epidermis, collectively referred
to as the cutis.
Intracutaneous
injection

Intracutaneous injection is
the injection of a substance
directly into the skin, in this
case directly under the top
layer of skin.
Intramuscular
injection

Intramuscular (or IM)

injection is the injection of
a substance directly into a
muscle.
Intravenous
injection

Intravenous is the giving of

liquid substances directly
into a vein.
 PROCEDUR
E
1.First, prepare all materials that we need,
such as :
• Syringe • Alcohol swab • Sterile set

• Medical bottle • Kidney bowl • Medical

gloves

•
2. Inform consent 3. Put on the apron
4.Wash your hands with six
steps to avoid the
contamination and dry it
5. Open the sterile package
6. Clean the top of the bottle with alcohol swab
7.Take the materials that we need near
the patient
8. Apply the medical gloves
9. Take the syringe and open the cup of the syringe with one hand
technique
10. Take the bootle of
medicine upside down at
the eyes level, insert the
needle and pull back the
plunger to fill the
medicine until the right
dose
11. Check the syringe,
expel the air, pull in the
plunger until the little
of medicine is out of
the syringe
12. Choose the injection area
13. Clean the injection area with alcohol swab with
circular movement from inside to outside (be sure
the alcohol is dry before injecting)

14. Put the needle with 45 degree

angle, inject the medicine by
pushing the plunger until the syringe
empty
15. Pull the needle out
and clean the skin again
with alcohol swab

16. Put all the materials to
