     A turbine is a
    rotary engine that
    extracts energy
    from any flow and
    converts it into
    useful work.
    How does a turbine in a wind
    turbine work?
     A turbine has a
    mechanical fan
    connected to it .
     When wind hits
    the fan, the fan
    produces kinetic
    energy.
    What is a generator?

    An electric
    generator is a
    device that
    converts  
    mechanical
    energy
    into electrical
    energy.
    How does a generator work?

    A generator
    forces 
    electrons in
    the windings
    to flow
    through the
    external
    electrical
    circuit.
    Who invented the wind
    turbine
    The first electricity generating wind turbine,
    was a battery charging machine installed in
    July 1887 by Scottish academic, James
    Blyth.

     Charles Brush built the first automatically


    operated wind turbine for electricity
    production in Cleveland, Ohio.
