Breeds And Breeding


Chickens are raised for a number of reasons
such as for egg production, meat production,
egg and meat production combined and
maybe for show purposes.
Most of the breeds of chicken however are
used in the production of commercial chicks
either egg type or meat type.

 Types
 Varieties
 Classes
What is Strain?
Population originating from small number of
individuals
Isolated within the breed
Reproduces itself with particularly well-established
characteristics
Giving rise to a well-defined aptitudes

Ancona
