Objective
 At the end of the presentation, RNs will be
able to:
1. Be familiar with the principles of delegation.
What is DELEGATION?

The transfer of RESPONSIBILITY and AUTHORITY for
the performance of a task from one individual to another
while retaining accountability for the outcome.
 Delegation involves two individuals: DELEGATOR and
DELEGATEE.

 PURPOSE:
1. Provide quality patient care
2. Allow RN to focus on core tasks
3. Address staffing issues
