Language Choice
• Language choice is when the speaker chooses what
language to use in particular situation in bilin
gual or multilingual communities. Who speaks wha
t language to whom and when" Fishman (1965 cited
in Al surmi.2000).
Language Learning
• Language Learning was first developed by
Charles A. Curran, a professor of psycho
logy, in 1961 as an effort to demonstrat
e the relationship between students and
teachers. This approach is commonly refe
rred to as the counseling method because
in the application of this theory the us
e of counseling techniques in language t
eaching is highly emphasized. This metho
d puts pressure on the role of the affec
tive domain in cognitive learning.
