QUARTER 2, WEEK 1

PHYSICS
PHYSICS

•a branch of science that deals with

matter and energy and their
interactions.
PHYSICS
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
• Electricity can be static,
like the energy that can
make your hair stand on
end.
• Magnetism can also be
static, as it is in a
refrigerator magnet.
ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES

•ELECTRICITY and
MAGNETISM =
ELECTROMAGNETIC
WAVES
WAVES
• a wave is a disturbance that travels through
space and matter transferring energy from
one place to another.
• ALL SOURCE OF WAVES is VIBRATION.

TYPES OF WAVES

•Mechanical waves
•Electromagnetic waves
•Matter waves
TYPES OF WAVES

1. Mechanical waves
-Are waves that travels through a
substance called MEDIUM.
-E.g. water wave, sound wave and
seismic wave
TYPES OF WAVES

2. Electromagnetic waves
-Are those waves that do not need
MEDIUM.
-E.g. x-rays, radio waves
TYPES OF WAVES

3. Matter Wave
-Are produced by fundamental
particles
-E.g. electron and proton
PARTS OF THE WAVE
WHAT IS A ELECTROMAGNETIC SPECTRUM?

Let us watch this short video clip

ACTIVITY 1: B – MAKING A RAINBOW
ACTIVITY 1: B – MAKING A
RAINBOW
• TAKE A PHOTO with YOUR
PARENT/GUARDIAN (RAINDOW is
VISIBLE)
• ANSWER GUIDED QUESTION 1 to 3
ACTIVITY 2: WAVE MY
DESCRIPTION
• Directions: Use the appropriate wave to connect column A to column B.
ACTIVITY 4: COMPLETE MY
TABLE
• 1. ILLUSTRATE Waves
• Draw the waves on a clean bond paper and
add colour of your choice.
• 2. do not forget to write its wavelength
