Errors in Computer system

 Errors is a software fault that causes the operating system to no

lengthier work correctly.
 System errors are normally serious and may required a hardware
device to be repaired or replaced.
Causes of Computer Errors

 Complicated machines such as line of codes.

 Hardware from different companies.
 Dozens of drivers
 Programming Error (Update version)
 Perform many tasks
Viruses and Malware

 Hijack Device
 Malicious attack
 Attack through spyware, key loggers and hijackers.
 Malware designed for damage the computer, server, client on
computer network.
 Malware types such as ransomware, adware, scareware, worms, rogue
software etc.
 Anti virus software helps you to get rid of malicious attacks.
Poor Internet Browsing

 The internet can be a fightening, dangerous place if your browser is

not configure appropriately.
 Unsafe browser could be a direct cause of errors on your PC.
 Use internet optimization to clean those errors.
 In old windows pc cleaner is user for internet optimization.
Windows 10 use Windows security to optimize the internet
browsing.
How to prevent Errors

We will able to stop errors by following steps.

 Update software regularly
 Use antivirus software to get rid of malicious threats.
 Use the safe or configured browser.
 To prevent hardware failure update hard drive regularly.
 Use advanced registry detection.
Types of computer errors

 Billing error : any mistake on a bill resulting from the seller

mistake for example a company may add what is owed incorrectly
or accidentally omit a credit it should have included. The buyer does
not have to pay billing errors though the dispute may take some
time to resolve.
 Example: a man received a $6.3 million bill for electricity. The
correct amount was $63. the cause was an input error made by
computer system.
Types of computer errors

Inaccurate and Misinterpreted data in databases:

 Misinterpreted data exist in database
 It is challenging to get accurate and meaningful error rates from major databases with
information about millions of people.
System Errors
 Multi functioning hardware components
 Corrupted OS
 Corrupted Data files
 Modules
Types of computer errors

Run Time errors

 These errors are caused by corrupted or multifunctioning system files or software
executables .
 Most run time errors cause the application that caused it to shutdown.
 System unstable
 System unresponsive
Stop errors
 Stop error caused by corrupted hardware.
 Corrupted RAM modules.
 Bad sectors on hard drive.
 Difficult to resolve quickly.
Types of computer errors

Device Manager Error

 Caused by corrupted driver files, Multi functioning hardware components.
 Former cause
 Latter cause
Post Code Error
 Post code error can be caused by multi functioning hardware components and are
characterized by short beep sound from the tiny internal speaker of your
motherboard.
 Post code errors occur when you press the power button to turn on your
computer.
Types of computer errors

No Video output
 When you open a video but nothing shows in the monitor and the LED indicator
of your monitor is flashing.
 Caused by the system failure.
 Corrupted file
Never Ending loading of operating system
 The computer opens up then boots but when the operating system loads it doesn’t
continue and it will take a longtime if you are going to wait for it to load.
Application Causes system to restart
 Bugs
Failures in Computer systems

 Most computer applications are complex it is virtually impossible to produce

programs with no errors and failures.
 A system failure can occur because of a hardware failure or a severe software
issue, causing the system to freeze, reboot or stop functioning altogether
 The computer may shutoff without warning and without any error message.
Computer System Fail general reasons
 The task they are intended for is inherently difficult.
 The work is done poorly.
 System failure may result from a hard drive with bad sectors.
 A failing motherboard can cause a system failure.
 A bad processor can usually cause a system failure.
 A bad RAM chip can cause a system failure.
 System failure due to software issues such as bugs.
 System failure due to malware infected the computer.
 Overheating
How to prevent failures

 Know that your computer is going to fail.

 Learn to recognize the signs of imminent failure.
 Dust issues
 RAM issues
 Don’t do anything unusual.
 Deal with Hardware issues.
 Malware issues
Example

Voting system in 2000 presidential election

 Irregularities in Florida, wide range of errors, including the insufficient provision
of adequate resources, caused a significant breakdown in the state's plan, which
resulted in a variety of problems that permeated the election process in Florida.
Large numbers of Florida voters experienced frustration and anger on Election
Day as they endured excessive delays, misinformation, and confusion, which
resulted in the denial of their right to vote or to have their vote counted.
 AT&T wireless services inc. executives said that a massive software failure in
November resulted in the inability to signup several Hundred thousand new
subscribers.
Risk in computer system

 A computer risk is really anything on a computer that may damage or steal

your data or allow someone else to access a computer, without your
knowledge or consent.
 A lot of different things that can create a computer risk, including malware
that can create a security risk including viruses, spyware, Trojan horses.
Risks

 Physical Risks
Resulting from physical access or damage to IT resources such as the servers.
These could include theft, unauthorized access to confidential data by an
employee or outsider.
 Electronic Risks
Aiming to compromise your business information.
For Example: A hacker could get access to your website, your IT system
could become infected by a computer virus or you could fall victim to a
fraudulent email or website. These are commonly of a criminal nature.
Continue…

 Technical Failures
Technical errors such as software bugs, a computer crash or the complete failure of
a computer component. A technical failure can be catastrophic.
For Example: You cannot retrieve data on a failed hard drive an no backup copy is
available.
 Infrastructure Failures
Infrastructure failures such as the loss of your internet connection can interrupt your
business.
For Example: You could miss an important purchase order.
Continue….

 Human Error
Human error is a major threat.
For Example: Someone might accidentally delete important data or fail to follow
security procedures properly.
