ICAO
-Initially established under the name PICAO, became ICAO
during the Plenary Assembly at the turn of May-June 1946 in
International Civil Montréal, the place that became the definitive headquarters
Aviation of ICAO.

Organization
-It is an autonomous agency of the United Nations charged
with developing the principles and techniques of
international air navigation, routes, and airports and
promoting the design and development of international air
transport by making it safer and more orderly. In addition,
ICAO defines protocols for air accident investigations
followed by the transportation safety authorities of the
signatory countries to the Convention on International Civil
Aviation, better known as the Chicago Convention.

- Founded in 1960

European
Aviation

EUROCONTROL is a pan-European, civil-military organisation


dedicated to supporting European aviation. The main activities touch
on operations, service provision, concept development, research,
Europe-wide project implementation, performance improvements,
coordination with key aviation players at various levels as well as
providing support to the future evolution and strategic orientations of
aviation.

ENAC
- Founded in 25 July 1997
Italian Civil - Headquarters in Rome, Italy
Aviation Authority
ENAC is the only Civil Aviation Authority in Italy. In the
framework of EU regulations, ENAC is therefore the
“Competent Authority” of Italy. ENAC is the Italian single
authority in the technical regulation, certification, supervision
and control of civil aviation with powers conferred by the
Italian Navigation Code. Enac guarantees the protection of
people involved in aeronautical operations (safety), and the
prevention and neutralization of acts of illegal interference
that can be implemented against the civil aviation system
(security)

• The National Body for Flight Assistance is a company owned by the


Ministry of Economy and Finances and managed by the Ministry of

ENAV Infrastructure and Transport through ENAC (Ente Nazionale


per l'Aviazione Civile).

• Handle 2 million flights yearly from the control towers of 45 airports and 4
National Body for Area Control Centers (ACC) (Roma, Milan, Padova, Brindisi).
Flight Assistance • The Company is responsible for the provision of air traffic services (ATS)
(Ente Nazionale per l'Assistenza al Volo)  
and other air navigation services in Italy. 

• As an air navigation service provider (ANSP) it is responsible for the


provision of
• Air traffic control service (ATCS)
• Flight information service (FIS)
• Aeronautical information service (AIS)
• Weather forecasts for the airports and the airspace

- IATA is an association made up of 290 airlines from 120
different countries. It represents the advocating for the
interests of the members in the global scenario; It assists
airlines by simplifying processes and increasing passenger
convenience while reducing costs and improving efficiency
moreover It helps airlines to operate safely, securely and
economically under clearly defined rules.

- Founded on January 1991

Airports - Headquarters in Montréal, Québec Canada

- ACI is a non-profit organization representing world’s airports union
that serves 701 members, operating 1933 airports in 183 countries. Its
prime purpose is to advance the interests of airports and to promote
professional excellence in airport management and operations. It
tends to maximize the contributions of airports to maintaining and
developing a safe and
environmentally compatible air transport system, moreover It
Influences international and national legislation, based on established
policies representing airports’ interests.
