• CALABARZON (/ká-lɑ-bɑr-zon/) is
one of the regions of the
Philippines. It is designated as
Region IV-A and its regional
center is Calamba City in Laguna.
The region is composed of five
provinces, namely: Cavite,
Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and
Quezon; whose names form the
acronym CALABARZON. The
region is also more formally known

• MIMAROPA is an administrative
region of the Philippines, designated
as Region IV-B. It is one of two
regions of the Philippines having no
land border with another region,
Eastern Visayas being the other. The
name is an acronym combining the
names of its provinces, which are:
Mindoro(divided into Occidenta
Mindoro and Oriental Mindoro),
Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan.
The region is also more formally

The Mabini Shrine
• Located in Barrio Talaga is about
7 kilometers from the town proper
of Tanauan. Or, from the STAR
highway take the Sambat,
Tanauan exit, and move towards
the Talisay - Tagaytay route.
• The Mabini shrine is about 5
minutes drive from the toll plaza.

Boac, Marinduque Branch Museum
• The branch museum is housed in an old
Spanish building that used to be a library and
Municipal Trial Court of Boac, Marinduque.
Representative and now Governor
Carmencita Reyes, who facilitated the
restoration of the building and construction of
showcases, made possible the turnover of the
lot and building to the National Museum by
the municipality of Boac.
• The museum measures 410 square meters
including the mezzanine floor.
Boac, dubbed as a small paradise, is the

Rizal Shrine Calamba
• This grand house in Calamba
is a reproduction of the house
where our national hero was
born on June 19, 1861. He was
christened Jose Protacio Rizal
Mercado y Alonso Realonda.
His parents were Francisco
Mercado and Teodora Alonso.

Don Catalino Rodriguez
Ancestral House,
• Also known as Villa Sariaya, is
one of the three houses declared by
the National Historical Institute (Now
called the National Historical
Commission) of the Philippines as
Heritage house in Sariaya, QuezonIt
was owned by Don Catalino
Rodriguez, Sariaya’s town Presidente
(Mayor during the American
occupation period) from 1908-1909.

The Gumaca Cathedral
• Formally the Cathedral of San
Diego de Alcala, is the biggest
and oldest church in the
province of Quezon. Established
in 1582, it was burned in 1665
by the Dutch forces. It is
currently found in Brgy. San
Diego Poblacion, town of
Gumaca, Quezon province.

SAN SANTIAGO APOSTOL
CHURCH
• Into the heart of the town, lies our
church San Santiago Apostol. It is very
old, as it can be seen through the
structure of the church. It’s like its
structure has always been similar of
how it was built in the past. It is a
beautiful creation that has been
preserved for over 366 years. According
to some sources, The church is founded
in the year 1580 by Rev. Juan

Malagonlong Bridge
• In Quezon Province is one of
the few surviving arch type
bridges built during the Spanish
colonial period. Located about
2.4 km southeast of Tayabas, it
forms part of the provincial road
going to Pagbilao. About
230m after this bridge is the
junction going to Mauban.

MELVILLE LIGHTHOUSE,
Balabac
• Cape Melville Lighthouse is a
historic lighthouse located in
the island of Balabac, the
southernmost point of the
province of Palawan in the
Philippines. It is also the
southwest corner of the
archipelago.

Punta de Malabrigo Lighthouse
• Also known as Casa de
Segunda, this ancestral House
was built in the 1880s by
Segunda Katigbak and her
husband Manuel Metra Luz.
Katigbak is mentioned as the first
love of Rizal in his biography.

Jose Rizal Monument
• The Rizal Monument originally
called the Motto Stella (Guiding
star) is a memorial monument in
Rizal Park in Manila, Philippines built
to commemorate the Filipino
nationalist, José Rizal.
• The mausoleum consists of a
standing bronze sculpture of the
martyr, with an obelisk as his
backdrop, set on a pedestal upon

which his remains are interred.

front reads: "To the memory
of José Rizal, patriot and
martyr, executed on
Bagumbayan Field
December Thirtieth 1896.
This monument is dedicated

museum built in 1953.

Paete Wood Carving
• Paete is considered as the Carving Capital
of the Philippines. In fact, its name is
derived from "Paet" which is the Filipino
word for chisel. Carving is celebrated almost
year round with their festivities. For
January, its "Salibanda” and “Sto.Nino de
Palaboy”.
For February, there is “Valentineisbigin
Paete”. March to April feature “Centurion
Festival” or Cinaculo.

“Pakubol” or the Pasabit Festival.
July is the Town Fiesta while
August to October are celebration
of fruits like Santol and
Lanzones. November for Undas
and December for Christmas are

WOOD sculptures of Luis Ac-
ac of Paete, Laguna
• The event highlights the recent works of
Luis Ac-ac, Mariko Jacinto and Alab
Pagarigan. Ac-ac, a multi-awarded
sculptor from the woodcarving town of
Paete, Laguna, will be presenting seven
large pieces of his most recent
carvings.
• Ac-ac’s figuration is distinct in its linear
quality and clear, illustrative
renderings of characters, which echo
early Filipino modern art and design.
