INTRODUCTION

I chose the project because of how integral dinner is in everyone’s day to day life.
Dinner is usually the final meal of the day and eating it together is a great way to bond
with your family. I used RNG in every class to determine how many samples I would
gather and who I would sample by assigning everyone in the classroom a number.
My sample data was as follows: 1, 2, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 6, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7, 7.

Studies show the mean number of days dinner is prepared at home with a sample size of
21 is 4.71 days. Construct an 80% confidence interval using this information if the
standard deviation is 2.1.

REFLECTION

This generally was an interesting project, I was surprised by the number of people who
eat dinner at home every night of the week. This project helped my understand statistics
better by allowing me to use my creative thinking and apply it to statistics class. This
project is relevant to the real world because eating dinner is something that most people
do regularly, as meals are quite important.
