All 3GPP specifications AR have a specification number consisting of 4 or 5 digits. (e.g.
IC
09.02 or 29.002).
UB
The first two Y digits define the series, followed by 2 further digits for the 01 to 13
R
series orCI3 further digits for the 21 to 55 series.
The full D U title, specification number and latest version number for every specification
can R Abe found in the current status list (warning: large file!).
, T
RAn automated list of Specification numbers - with the Title and details of the
CA Specification Group responsible.
A specification in the 21 to 35 series may apply either to 3G only or to GSM and 3G.
A clue lies in the third digit, where a "0" indicates that it applies to both systems. For
example, 29.002 applies to 3G and GSM systems whereas 25.101 and 25.201 apply
only to 3G.
Most specs in all other series apply only to GSM systems. However, as the spec
numbering space has been used up, this guide is frequently broken, and it is
necessary to examine the information page for each spec (see the table below) or to
check the lists in 01.01 / 41.101 (GSM) and 21.101 (3G) for the definitive
specification sets for each system and each Release.

Stages U A
EC
The term "stage" derives from the D CCITT (now ITU-T) method for categorizing
specifications. A
R
A description from a service-user’s point of view.
"Stage 1" refers to the service G
LU
"Stage 2" is a logical analysis, breaking the problem down into functional elements
and the information flows EN amongst them.
"Stage 3" is the concreteAR implementation of the protocols between physical elements
IC
onto which theBfunctional elements have been mapped.
U
In addition, Y3GPP often performs feasibility studies the results of which are made
available IRin Technical Reports (normally 3GPP-internal TRs, numbered xx.8xx, not
U C
intended
D for transposition by the Organization Partner SDOs). The feasibility study
R
might A be considered as a sort of "Stage 0". Furthermore, some Stage 3
, T
R specifications require test specifications to be prepared: effectively a "Stage 4".
CA Phases
This term has two distinct usages within the 3GPP:
in reference to GSM specifications, Phase 1, Phase 2 and Phase 2+ referred to
releases of specifications (see table above);
some features within GSM/3G specifications have been enhanced over the years.
For example, enhancements to the CAMEL functionality are referred to as CAMEL
phase 2, CAMEL phase 3 CAMEL phase 4 etc. CAMEL is one of only a few
examples within the 3GPP using the term in this sense.

(Home page »  Specifications )
– Atención: NO SIEMPRE SE CUMPLE ESTA REGLA
current status list (warning: large file!) y en list of Specification
numbers
http://www.3gpp.org/ftp/Specs/html-info/FeatureListF
rameSet.htm
.

encuentra R1-072578.
