SURVEY OF NULVI
AREA
Comprehensive study in Geology
Group 4
What is hydrogeological study?
• There is NH 4 passing very close to Nulvi area. This area is connected to the
highway with metalled road. There are several other roads metaled and
unmetaled connecting the area.
This NH 4 connects the area to Bangalore city.
• Nulvi area is located very nearby to areas such as Adaragunchi, Belagali etc.
• The trace sheet of the accessibility map has been attached.

Geochemical study of Nulvi area
• The water sample of Nulvi area were collected and different tests were conducted
on them.
• The values are given below in the table along with WHO value comparison.
• The high value of nitrate is due to the excessive use of pesticide and insecticides
by the farmers in the area.

Geological Study of the area
• The area consists of limestone and greywacke in and around the area. There are
different banded iron formation and shale regions in the area.
• The area also consists of dolomite and acid volcanic rocks.
Conclusion
• This study helped us to understand the different geological and geochemical
aspects of the Nuvli area.
• It has also helped us to understand how the uncontrolled use of different
pesticides can lead to water pollution and unfit for use of farming and drinking
purposes.
• The remedy of this is to increase the usage of manure and decrease the usage of
chemical fertilizer in the area.
