How to read Ericsson

2G log Easily
To get all 2G configurations
scope
1- BSC ID

2- Site & cell naming in log

3- Determine all TGs on site and all sectors

4- Determine no. of frequencies for each sector

5- Determine frequency power for each sector

6- No. of MCTR for each TG

7- No. of MCTR for each sector and its power distribution

8- Check TF mode for each TG

9- Check for HW equipment defined on DUG

10- Check status of cells

11- Check external alarms

12- Check internal alarms

1 - BSC ID

at the beginning of 2G log you can get which BSC this

site connected to
In this case this site connected to BSC 75
2 - SITE & CELL naming
Site ID band 900 equals Site ID only

Co site ID band 1800 equals Site ID

with C letter before it
CELL ID equals Site ID with sector
no. after it

5 - Frequency (TRX) power for each sector

Search in log for (power data)

6 - NO. OF MCTR (RUS) per each TG (DUG)

MCTR ( multicarrier transceiver ) is managed object for RUS

Each MCTR has Max output power and Max TRXs which dependent on RUS HW
and license on BSC

Search in log for (MCTR-TG ID) for each TG (DUG).

For example : TG 349 we will search by MCTR-349 which has 2 MCTR ( RUS ) 0
&1
7- no. of MCTR (RUS per each sector)

Search in log for ( object data )

Then search for ( TRX-TG ID ) you will get each MCTR related to witch sector for all
TRXs on this TG for each search.

After above search finish ,search for (MCTR-TG ID-MCTR NO. ) you will get data
for this MCTR ( Max PWR, Max TRX, Mixed mode )

Now we get power distribution data on RUS for each sector on TG (DUG).

We will take TG 349 as example , from before we get this TG has two MCTR
( 2*RUS )
In this case We find TG 349 has two MCTR

MCTR 0 for SEC 2 900

MCTR 1 for SEC 2 1800

MCTR 0 with max Power 50 db (100 W) and 8 TRX (depends on HW & license on
BSC)
MCTR 1 with max power 49 dbm (75 W) and 3 TRX ( depends on HW & license on
BSC)
From above we found TG 349 has SEC 2 900 with 1 RUS (MCTR 0) with power
distribution 50dbm (100 W) -- 41dbm x8 (12.5 W x 8 TRX)
And also SEC 2 1800 with 1 RUS (MCTR 1) with power distribution 49dbm
(75W) – 44dbmx3 ( 25W X 3 TRX)
8 – check for TG ( DUG ) Master or Slave

Search in log for (MO=RXOTF)

You will get TF mode ( timing function ) for each TG

TF mode will be SA (stand alone) , M ( Master ) or S (Slave).

9 - check for cell is active or halted
• Search in log for cell status
10- HW equipment defined on DUG

Search in log for ( RXOCF-TG ID)

You will find all HW defined on all TGs (DUGs) such as PSUs, PDUs,
RUSs, SAU, SCU, BFU, DUG , CAB

You can get serial no. , product no. for above HW

You can get which CAB defined on DUG (6102, 6201)

For example we will search for TG 351 by (RXOCF-351) to find all HWs
defined on it
We find in this case this DUG defined on CAB 6102 with 4 PSU, 1 PFU, 1
SCU ,1 SAU, 3 PDU, 2 RUS 01 B8 and 1 RUS 01 B3
11 - check for external alarms

Search in log for (alarm list)

You will get all TGs on BSC That have external alarms

If your site not mentioned in log that means site clear from external alarms

Each external alarm has code that corresponds to certain alarm

In this case BSC87 found external alarms on b/m Sites and our site D7057 not fount in log so it is clear from
external alarms

Site ID ( RSITE) TG External alarm

K2125 265 ME56

D3202 143 ME57
J2166 305 HIGH TEMP
12- check for internal alarms

Search for (alarm You will get all site In below case all TGs
situation) TGs with its alarms for site has no-alarm
