KEMPAMBUDHI LAKE
HISTORY OF THE PLANT
 Kempambudhi Kere is situated behind Jinke Park,
Chamrajpet, Bengaluru and is spread across 47 acres.
 Kempegowda (1513-1569), the Vijayanagara kingdom
chieftain who is credited with the founding of
Bengaluru, built the lakes for his family deity
Kempamma in the 16th century.
 Some sources say Kempambudhi is the first lake in
the Vrishabhavati stream series.
 The lake was once the life of old Bengaluru
(Chamarajapet and Basavanagudi) from where the
city flourished.

 Mailasandra lake is located at Uttarahalli Main


Road in Bengaluru.

ABOUT THE LAKE
The lake is surrounded by number of small & large
lakes in the near proximity to Devarabisanahalli
lake like Kaikonadanahalli lake, Dodda kannalli
lake, Saul kere & harlur lake.
These lakes are not interconnected but they all
will finally join the Bellandur valley on the
downstream side.

ABOUT THE LAKE
 Doddabidarakallu Lake is located in the Northern part of Bengaluru
city.
 Itis situated in Doddabidarakallu village, Nagasandra Village and
Yeswanthapura-1 Hobli of BBMP.
 This lakes forms a part of the lake series which begins with the
run-off from the areas of Doddabidarakallu village, Nagasandra
village and Dasarahalli lake, flowing into the Doddabidarakallu
Lake.
 Thisis the main source of storm water inflows into the
Doddabidarakallu Lake from the gently sloping terrain nearby lake.
 The outflows from this lake initially travels in an North-west
direction and after travelling for afew hundred metres in the
North-west direction and joins in the Anchepalya Lake.
