system
Introduction
 The male organs which mainly are associated with reproduction
process are called as male reproductive organs and the system is
known as male reproductive system.
 There are mainly two category of male reproductive organs.
They are given as:
 1> Internal male reproductive organs : They consists of testes,
epididymis, vas deferens, spermatic cords, seminal vesicle,
ejaculatory ducts, prostate gland & penis.
 2>External male reproductive organs: They consists of scrotum
and penis.
Internal male reproductive organ
1) Testes: Testes are the reproductive glands of male and are
of approximately 4.5 cm in length, 2.5cm in breath 3 cm in
thicken and mass is about 10-14gm
 Testes lie in the scrotum, and is protected by a structure called the
spermatic cord.
 The testes are responsible for making male sex hormone, and also
for production of sperm.
 In testes there are some coiled mass of tubules called
seminiferous tubules. These tubes are responsible for producing
sperm cells.
2) Epididymis : The epididymis is a tightly coiled tubules
surrounded by connective tissue. This is comma shaped
structure.
 The secrection contain hormones, enzymes and nutrients
important for sperm. They are surrounded by smooth muscle
fibre which help in passage of sperm along duct.
 Their main function is to transport or at some extent store of
sperm.
 3) Vas deferens: It is thick walled fibro muscular tube and can
be said as continuation of epididymis after tail.
 The vas deferens transports mature sperm to the urethra, that
carries urine or sperm to outside of the body, in preparation for
ejaculation.
