Water is the main resource Water pollution is a real
on Earth, it covers more than threat to our survival. It is

agree that it is the biggest
threat to human health.
Water pollution can occur when water surface is
contaminated. It could be caused by debris such as plastic
bottles or chemicals in the form of runoff from factories.

Domestic wastewater contains synthetic detergents which


end up in the rivers and seas.
4 main causes of water pollution:

•solid waste
•oil spills

The consequences of pollution:
• contamination of aquatic animals
• the water people drink is not of the highest quality
Measures to prevent water pollution:
Construction of dams and water protection areas;
Prohibition of the accidental dumping and storage of
waste of any kind on the banks or riverbeds;
Control of the storage and disposal of solid waste, so
that harmful substances do not infiltrate the
groundwater;
The correct organization of drinking water and
sewerage systems at the local level;
Construction of stations or wastewater treatment
systems of localities;
 Destruction by disinfection of pathogens contained in
wastewater of some institutions (hospitals),
slaughterhouses, units of the meat industry;
