A gerund is the –ing form of a verb that functions the same as a noun.
Some verbs are followed by gerunds. When you are talking about an activity, you
usually use a gerund with these specific verbs.
Examples
Hunting tigers is dangerous.
Flying makes me nervous.
Brushing your teeth is important.
Smoking causes lung cancer.
Explanation
