AGREEMENT
PRESENT-TENSE- verb must agree
with its subject pronoun.
RULES ON PRONOUN-VERB AGREEMENT

• 1. For singular pronouns like She, He, and It, add –s or –es to the
base form of the verb.

• EXAMPLES:
• She works at the National Census Office
• He surveys the total number of families in the barangay
• It helps the government know the total population.

• 2. For plural pronouns like We, You, and They, do not add –s or –
es, to the base form of the verb.

• EXAMPLES:
• We support the English campaign in our school.
• You join the campaign, too.
• They speak the English language all the time.

• 3. Singular pronouns such as I and You always use the base form of
the verb.

• EXAMPLES:
• I monitor the non-English speakers in our Class.
• You list down the good speakers of English.
