2. Vocabulary: clothes
and colors
An adjective is used to describe or qualify
an object, a person, an animal, etc. In
summary, an adjective describes or talks
about a NOUN.
Example:
• My mom has a big house.
• Those pants look great!
• That’s a nice shirt.
• Where are my blue shoes?
REMEMBER
When the noun and the adjective are together
(e.g. with the verb BE), the correct order is
“adjective + noun”
An adjective can express:
1. opinion (great, beautiful, terrible, etc.)
2. color (black, blue, red, green, etc.)
3. number (three, two, hundreds, etc.)
4. size (big, short, large, medium, etc.)
5. shape (round, square, flat, etc.)
6. origin (peruvian,, Chinese, etc.)
An noun can be:
1. singular or plural (person/people,
city/cities, etc.)
2. countable or uncountable (dogs, apple,
milk, love, etc.)
A: Mom, where’s my yellow T-shirt?
