Edmodo
Edmodo is an online and mobile social
learning platform that provides a safe and
easy way for your students to connect and
collaborate, share content, and access class
work in an online environment.
Pros: Small learning curve for anyone who uses
popular social media, as well as a robust
community and support. 
Cons: The user interface is very busy for
teachers, especially with ads, and it could use
a rubric tool and better collaboration options.
Voxopop
Voxopop is an online message board system
that uses voice instead of text. Its forums are
called Talkgroups and can be created by
anyone, including teachers, to talk about any
subject. Talkgroups can be public, private, or
invite-only. Teachers can choose to make
discussions private.
Pros: It's easy to set up Talkgroups and
propose discussions, and kids can practice
for speaking in real-life situations.
Cons: Many of the public boards haven't been
updated in years.
