INTRODUCTION

Construction industry is one of the most booming industry in

the world.
Construction industry produces 30% wastage of materials,
cost and time [4].
Construction industry is the largest employment producing
sector in Pakistan with an annual growth rate of 9.05%
(2016-2017) [1].

3
INTRODUCTION

Developing Countries like Pakistan has a poor record in

terms of completing projects in allotted time [2].

Traditional management practices should be replaced by

modern techniques like BIM.

5
INTRODUCTION
BIM is a process of
designing a building in
collaboration.

6
PROBLEM STATEMENT

For sustainable development, losses (material, cost and

time) should be minimized.
Projects should be made Economical, Qualitative and
Time efficient.
Traditional management techniques should be replaced
by advance technologies.
BIM has the potential to overcome these challenges.

7
OBJECTIVES

To Re-model an existing structure using BIM.

To Identify the present state of BIM adoption and

Highlight the barriers in adoption of BIM in Pakistan.

To Increase efficiency of construction industry in Pakistan.

8
SIGNIFICANCE OF BIM

Saves time and cost of a project.

Detailed information.
Improve collaboration.
Less rework.
Resolves clashes.
Mobility.
Control and Management.
9
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Literature review of BIM Adoption and Applications.

Our research methodology will consist of Two Phases

10
RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Phase-1 :
Re-modeling of an existing structure using BIM and
comparing it with the previous results.
Phase-2 :
 Identification of barriers in BIM Adoption taxonomy
in Pakistan through questionnaire based survey.
 Sharing Findings of Phase-1 of our project with
construction firms for the awareness of BIM in
Pakistan.
