What is organizational structure

“An organizational

structure outlines how certain

activities are directed to achieve

the goals of an organization”

The impact of org structure on firm’s
productivity

An organizational structure groups people together in some fashion that an

owner hopes will best promote productivity. In an ideal world, employees

will be able to communicate, share resources, coordinate activities and still

be efficient.
HOW TO SELECT SUITABLE ORG
STRUCTURE

When considering which organizational structure to adopt, an owner

should examine how each framework will impact productivity and why.

Perfection doesn’t exist, though, so a prudent owner must consider trade-

offs. For instance, workers in highly specialized jobs may be productive,

but innovation disappears.

Impact of structure over employees performance

Organization structure has an impact on the

employee performance; a poor organized

organization structure means that there will

be low productivity, less delegation of work,

no incentives provided and centralized

decisions.
Organic structure

An organic organizational structure is

characterized by an extremely flat
reporting structure within an
Organization.

Mechanistic structure

A mechanistic structure, also known as a bureaucratic structure

, describes an organizational structure that is based on a formal,
centralized network.

“Organizational Structures Need to Evolve”

The need to adopt change

and reform with time is a
necessity and no one can
escape the deterioration that
occurs due to a lack of
adaptability with time.
