Introduction:

• Aviation is a rapid providers of transport


worldwide.
• Aviation is a fast growing sector and is
growing continuously.
• Aviation demand around the world has
increased by a 4.3% per annual over the
next twenty years.

• Aviation industry is an engine for social economical growth.


• It creates indirect employment and also helps to increase the
Gross Domestic Product (GDP)
• When a growth in aviation occurs technology improves and
new aviation trends come in form through out the world.
• Aviation plays an important role in

the country’s economy.
Growth • The demand for air transport and
passenger services is growing
strongly and the total revenue from
passengers has increased by 8.1%
globally.
• Cheap cities have a direct impact on
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) as
well as on trade this will increase as
well improve the economical
progress of the country.
Aviation Growth

• The aviation sector only transfers one-third value of weight by


air as compared to the 99% of the weight which is transferred
by different means of transport e.g. (ship, bus, etc).
• According to IATA, the goods that were transported by air in
2017 have increased by 7.5% in the GDP of the world. As for
the passenger growth in 2017, the economic conditions and
low fares have helped increase the passenger demand
creating a driver for the GDP increase.

• According to the global forecast IATA (International Air


Transport Association) has estimated that the passenger
traffic to double in the next 15 years.
• Creating saturation at airports and airfield.
• IATA forecast indicate that Pakistan's domestic travel will grow
with a rate of 9.5% per year, which means it will be twice
more than the worlds annual growth rate that is 4.1% over
next 20 years.

• Pakistan aviation industry will grow similar to the world


growth.
• Pakistan aviation industry has grown in the past 5 years with
an increase of 7.1% in respect to the moment of aircraft and
6.3% in passenger traffic and it is expected to increase more
in the coming years.

• Increase in social-economical routes in Pakistan and the


economical progress, it is expected that sustained growth is
expected in the coming future.
• According to the current trends, forecasts indicate that
Pakistan air transport will increase by 184% by the next 20
years and the passengers that will be departing are estimated
to be 22.8 million by 2038.
• This growth in the aviation sector of Pakistan will increase
the GDP and will create approx 786,300 jobs.
Steps Taken for Aviation Growth in Pakistan

• The National Aviation Policy 2019 (NAP19) has many


amendments and additions which is created for the sustainable
growth of aviation in Pakistan after the NAP17.
• A new license TPRI (Tourism Promotion and Regional
Integration) is one of the ways to boost aviation in Pakistan.
• leverages on taxation which will enable the growth of the
aviation sector of Pakistan.

• For the growth of aviation, new policies were introduced in


NAP19 these policies are facilitating airlines so that new airlines
can operate in Pakistan and foreign investors can join and bring
the GDP of Pakistan up.
• Allowance of foreign airlines to conduct business in Pakistan

Infrastructure up gradation and development of social-economical


airports to attract tourism and promote the growth of aviation in
Pakistan

In incentivized the Maintenance Repair Organizations (MRO) and


Aircraft Manufacturing Organization (AMO) so that the Pakistan
aviation industry can grow which include 100% FDI to grow the
economy of Pakistan and the aviation industry.
Amendment in taxation for putting up a flight simulator with 100%
FDI to boost the industry.
COVID-19 Impact on Aviation Growth

Tremendous down fall in aviation growth globally.

Risk of collapsing after coming to a halt.

IATA stated that 259,400 jobs are at risk

IATA states that 48% Revenue-Passenger-Kilometers


(RPKs) and 55% passenger revenue is reduced in 2020.
Conclusion:
• Pakistan Aviation Division is small as compared to other countries but is yet moving
too fast track progress in the coming years.
• NAP 19 has looked into many aspects for the aviation industry to grow in Pakistan.
• The current COVID19 situation has a very bad effect on the aviation industry and
will take time to recover from the losses achieved.
