 The entrepreneur is person who gets out of the shower and acts on those
ideas
 However, you will increase your chances of success if yu ask some tough
question before acting:

- What is my reason for starting business?


- What type of business can I start?
- What skills, interest, and personal qualities will I be able to bring to the business?
- What are my strengths and weakness as business owner?

Idea for new business come from many sources


You may wish to explore an idea that is new to you (take classes,
apprentice, or work in area dealing with your new field of interest)
You can develop business based on equipment you already have and
technology that you understand
Many new business are started by individuals who utilize existing
skills from salaries jobs
Identifying skills, Interests, and
Personal Qualities
A careful evaluation of your skills, interest, and personal qualities
can help you determine the business you are best suited for
Skills are your abilities to use your knowledge and training
proficiently
Interest are those things you enjoy doing and that bring you
pleasure
Evaluating Your Strengths and
Weakness
You don’t have to be an expert to start business, but you must have a
realistic understanding of your strengths and weakness
No business owner know everything
If you identify an area in which you will need help, remember,
expertise can be acquired
You can compensate for weakness by taking classes, hiring staff, or
using consultants
When you have decided on a business, answer
the following questions:
Do you have the skills needed to run this business
Do you know help you will need and where you will find that help
Do you have the time required to learn what you need to know?
Can you afford the money needed to hire staff or pay consultants
Are you genuinely interested in this particular business
Are you committed to the business’ success?
Are you willing to devote the time needed to develop a successful business
Does the business fill an unmet need?
Is there a sufficient consumer demand to support your business?
Can you effectively compete in the marketplace?
Will you be able to understand your business financial statements ?
Are you developing a business plan that can throughout the life of your business?
