NUCLEATED VILLAGES

Nucleated village is a type of


settlement pattern which has
homesteads clustered around a central
point called a nucleus. The focal point
depends on location and culture and
may include a shrine, rural market,
etc.
LINEAR VILLAGE

Linear village, a small to medium-sized


settlement that is formed around a transport
route, such as a mountain ridge, road, river,
stream or canal or . Initially the houses were
all built on one side of the route. 
In the linear villages, the main road is
generally the main connecting road joining
the houses or settlements.
DISPERSED VILLAGES

Dispersed villages are ones where the houses are


spread out over a wide area. They are often
the homes of farmers. These clusters/ tiny
villages are owned by family head, and
inhabited by sons and relatives. These are
settled near to their farms.
ISOLATED VILLAGES

Isolated villages are ones where the houses are


too spread and too scattered. It might be new
settlement. Or someone has settled in its
agriculture lands.

MEMBER GOTHABAD

The Sindh Gothabad (Housing Scheme) Act 1987


was introduced in 1987. Its purpose was the
regularization of villages and to confer
proprietary/ ownership rights to the existing
occupants as well as to the shelter less people
in the rural areas of Sindh province. The
scheme was prepared to enable the poor
occupants to enjoy the fruit of ownership of
land that too free of cost.
