Employee Self Services ESS (1)

 The Business Package for Employee Self-Service ESS integrates SAP


solution Employee Self-Service (ESS) into the Enterprise Portal.

 ESS is fully integrated with SAP 2005 thus taking full advantage of
SAP 2005 business logic and functionality.

 ESS lets employees create, display and change their own data in the
Enterprise Portal.

 By enabling employees to access their own data, HR processes are


standardized and simplified. As a result, employees in the Human
Resources Department can concentrate on other tasks of greater
strategic importance.

Employee Self Services ESS (2)

 SAP ESS allows you to manage the flow of information within the
company.

 It gives employees access to all the information they need to


make decisions.

 Employees take responsibility for a broad range of their own data


and processes, including personal information and working time.

 Employees are empowered to take responsibility for their own


data, saving management time and money from different
administrative work.

 In general ESS services provides a user friendly Guided


procedure for easy complete of a process
 User completes Request and goes to the next step
 The system displays the Review screen. (The user send the
request to the approver)
 The system generates success message

 Employees can use this service to search for


employee data in the company address book. In
addition, employees can also maintain their own
data.

 The service comprises the following functions:


– Simple Search
You can search by first name and last name.
– Extended Search using various criteria
If you run a generic search, the system displays a hitlist
from which you can go directly to the employee’s
profile.

3: Salary Statement (Payments)

 Employees obtain one or more salary statements for


a selected period.

 The service is based on the salary statement created


using the salary statement created using the HR
Forms Editor.

 The salary statement is output as a PDF-based form.


Employees can print the salary statement from the
Web application or save it on their PC.

 Employees should have Adobe Acrobat Reader


installed on thier PCs to view PDF-Files

 This Employee Self-Service enables employees to


view all of their bookings and the status of each
booking. With the required authorization, employees
can rebook or cancel bookings in this service or,
alternatively, submit rebooking or cancellation
requests for approval.
 Automatic approval workflows can be triggered when
requests for rebooking or cancellation are submitted.
 Employees can appraise events they have attended in
this service.

 A list is displayed with details of the employee’s booking


operations. This includes the status per business event:
– Attendance requested
– Booked
– Canceled
– Rebooked
– Booked on waiting list
– Attended
– Requested booking
– Current booking

– Takes place today
 At the end of the list, the total event costs accrued, split by
currency, are displayed

 This function enables you to control the processing of


leave requests and other absences.

 The function comprises the entire leave request


process. The process starts with the creation of a
leave request and the processing of it before it is
finally posted to the backend system.

 The interfaces used by employees and managers


when they process leave requests are ESS Services
that belong to Employee Self-Service (ESS) and
Manager Self-Service (MSS).
