I. The Parque Nacional group
1. The Galapagos National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979.
They are engaged in protecting the island’s ecosystem. The article is about the the
group trying to find out solutions to protect the island’s environment.
- As you can see in the picture, there are many animals in the Galapagos Island from
land to sea, even in the coldest place on Earth.
II. The solution
• Parque Nacional Park promises on bringing the best and
happy life for animals and plants.
• They also want to raise fund and to improve the service.
• They do some research into the nature and ecosystem in the
island.
• Breeding the emergency animals.
• Try to bring to the farmers some information about the
importance of the island.
=> In order to do all of that solution, they need money and
people to agree and do with them.

III. The UNESCO group
• The UNESCO ( United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural
Organization) is a organization that is responsible for coordinating
international cooperation in education, science and cultural all over the
world.
• The article mention UNESCO as a organization trying to protect and raise
money for the Galapagos Islands. They are trying as hard as they can to
make Galapagos a better place.
 IV. The solution
• It seeks to encourage the identification, protection and preservation of
cultural and natural heritage around the world considered of outstanding
value to humanity.
• Encourage local community to protect the island.
• Galapagos should raises the awareness on the importance of the island’s
conservation.
• Stricter controls on immigration to the site creation of a quarantine system
to control alien species.
• The creation of much larger marine reserve around the islands with
improval legal protection.
• Limitions on property rights and economic activities to make these
consistent with the goal of conservation and increased national funding
allocation to the site.
=> In order to do all of that work, they need MONEY and PEOPLE.
V. The Farmers group
• The biggest group in the island.
They have to do the agricultural for money and food
because the inhabitant has grown so fast.
VI. The solution
• Try to control the plant so the plant will not invade the island.
• Decrease the rate of inhabitant.
• Try to raise fund and connect to the government.
• Want the government to help them with some money.
=> They need money.
VII. The compromise
• * The Parque Nacional group: use strict laws and fund to protect the
island and also do some research into it.
• * The UNESCO group: because the island is very important so they have to
protect and Galapagos is alo the world’s heritage.
• * The Farmers group: is engaged to control the agricultural so that it
would not affect the island’s ecosystem.
IX. The ecosystem
This ecosystem will become better if the
islander and visitor follow the rules.
Also, we should not bring any strange
animal or plant into the island because it
would damage the ecosystem there. The
food web would become worse if there is
one animal eat one species in the food
sequence.
