The active voice
We use the active voice when the subject of a sentence performs
the verb’s action. Sentences in the active voice have a strong,
direct, and clear tone.

The passive voice is when the subject is acted on by the verb ( receives the action of the
verb). The passive voice is constructed with a conjugated form of to be plus the verb’s past
voice
participle.
Get
passive
In the get-passive, the verb get replaces be.
• The verb tense of get changes based on whether you're talking about the present,
past or future.
• Get is often used in an informal way or when the action occurs quickly and suddenly.
• We are not interested in who does the action, but if we want to know the subject in a
passive sentence, we can put the preposition by.
• the get-passive is used with action verbs.
