England is part of the european continent, and it was inhabited for thousands of
years. The country was conquered by the Anglos, the Saxons and the Jutes. The
language of the Anglo-saxons originated the current English.
The population of England is composed by an ethnic mix and its majority is Christian
England is a country in the British isles that borders Scotland and Wales. The capital,
London, located on the banks of the River Thames, is home to parliament, the Big
Ben and the tower of London, from the 11th century. The city is also a modern
multicultural center for the arts and business. Other major cities in England are
Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool, Bristol and the University centers of Oxford and
Cambridge.

Famous for its Literature, England has

great representation such as
Shakspeare, Charles Dickens, Jane
Austen, George Orwel and Agatha
Cristie. England is also famous for its
music, and have bands with wordwide
recognition like Queen, The Beatles,
Iron Maiden, Pink Floyd and The
Rolling Stones.

Traditionally used to diferentiate the noble from

the plebeian, the flag was a symbol of identity
and richness. During the Crusades, the army
adopted a white flag with a red cross, known as
St. George’s cross and it is now the symbol of
England. Its origin has not been precisely
established, but it has appeared as an English
symbol since the middle ages.

secondary education, further education and
