We are working to educate
youth in the city of Troy on
the fact that most kids are
not using marijuana and
alcohol.
MOST STUDENTS ARE DRUG—
FREE!
Social Norm Campaign
 A social norm is the accepted
behavior that an individual is
expected to conform to in a
particular group, community, or
culture.

 These norms often serve a useful

purpose and create the foundation
of correct behaviors.

 In other words, social norms allow

you to expect the events that will
occur in a particular setting.

 Our Campaign – How we started

 We studied the data from the prevention needs
assessment survey and found out that MOST of
our peers were not using drugs
 We were able to hire a marketing agency
 Once decided what our message was going to be
we met with the marketing agency and decided
what the campaign would entail.

Our Campaign – Phase One
 Before we shared the results of the survey , we wanted to make
sure that people believed the survey results. So we share the
fact that the survey was anomious, and that surveys were not
included in the survey results if they did not answer seriously.
