QUALITY is the totality of features
and characteristics of a product or
service that bears on its ability to
satisfy stated or implied needs.
Categorical Definitions of Quality

 User-based : Quality lies in the eyes of


the beholder.
 Manufacturing-based : Quality means
conforming to standards.
 Product-based : Quality is a precise and
measurable variable.
TOTAL QUALITY MANAGEMENT (TQM)

It refers to a quality that encompasses the entire


organization, from supplier to customer. It stresses a
commitment by management to have a continuing
company-wide drive toward excellence in all aspects of
products and services that are important to the
customer.

Planning Quality

Quality Assurance
involves
CHECKING the results
from quality control
measurements against the
quality requirements
defined in the
quality management plan
in order to ensure that appropriate
quality standards and
operational definitions are used.
Quality Control
involves monitoring and documenting
results of quality activities to
evaluate performance to aid in
identifying and
recommending necessary changes in
the
project output or process.
