 Rules for adding – ing to verbs

a) work - working For most verbs add- ing

b) have - having For verbs ending in “e” delete

“e” and add - ing

c) get - getting For verbs ending in a vowel +

consonant b, g, m , n, p , t.
Double the consonant and add

d) Exception For verbs not stressed on the
visit - visiting final syllable, do not double
the final consonant

e) see - seeing For verbs ending in “ee” : add
