DEFINITION OF PRODUCTIVITY
 Productivity is the measure of how much
input is required to produce a given output
i.e. it is ratio of output to input.
 According to peteer drucker:
 “Productivity means balance b/w all factors
of production that will give the maximum
output with the smallest efforts.”
WHAT IS PRODUCTIVITY?
 Productivity=output /inputs=amount
produced/amount of all resources
 It is the quantitative relationship between
what we produce and the resources used.
 Productivity is some relationship b/w input
and output of an enterprises.
 A measures of performance.
FACTORS AFFECTING THE
PRODUCTIVITY
 All the factors which are related to the input
and output component of a production
process, are likely to affect the productivity
and they are divided in 2 category:
 Primary factors are efforts and working
capacity of an individuals.
 Org. factors related to the design and
transformational process required to
produces some itme, nature of training and
other skills imparted to worker etc.
CATEGORY:2
 Factor related to the output: research and
development techiques,improvement in
technology and efficient sales strategy of the
or will lead to improvement in output
 Efficient use of input resources, better stores
control, production control
policy,maintanceof,machine etc will
minimize the cost of production.
WORK STUDY
 “a generic term for those techniques,
particularly method study and work
measurement ,which are used in the
examination of human work in all its
contexts, and which leads systematic to the
investigation of all the factors which affect
the efficiency and economy of the situation
being reviewed, in order to improvement”
OBJECTIVE OF WORK STUDY
 Increased production and productivity.
 Reduced cost labour,material ,overheads.
 Improvement quality
 Better control of cost
 Efficient use of human efforts
WORK STUDY IS DIVIDED INTO
FOLLOWING PARTS:
 Methods study
 Motion study
 Time study
 Fatigue study
