Objective of study
Based on the inputs from the various literature studies,
a research study was carried out with the following
objectives:

 The main objective of the study is to examine the role

of AMVC Logistics Pvt. Ltd. Determine the
transportation and how to work the reverse logistic of
the company.

 Also know about the various types of equipment and

technology used in transportation at AMVC Logistics
Pvt. Ltd.
Introduction
 Transportation is moving whatever comes out of one
location to the next location.
 That might mean transporting something from a
manufacturer to a distributor or from a distributor to a
customer.
 The resources managed in transportation can include
Physical items, such as food, materials, equipment,
Liquids items such as petrol, diesel and chemicals.
Origin of Transportation
 The first means of transportation was the Human
foot.
 People knew that trees and logs float on water and
so they dug out the middle portion of logs to form a
kind of seating.
 The first wheeled vehicles were used as a means of
transporting small loads, wheels were attached to
carts and chariots.
 steamboat is used to refer to smaller, insular, steam-
powered boats working on lakes and rivers,
particularly riverboat.
Current Transportation Scenario in India
 India's transport sector is a rapidly growing sector and
contributes 6.4 % to the GDP of the country.
 The sector is largely oil dependent and accounts for 13 %
of the country's energy-related CO2 emissions (Moe
2010).
 Crude oil imports have been increasing steadily and
making India the third largest oil importer globally.
 Nearly 80 % of India's current crude oil consumption
comes from imports raising challenges of national energy
security.
 Intercity transport is mainly met by road (88 %), rail (11
%), and a limited share of air transport. Indian railways
are among the largest rail networks globally and transport
23 million passengers and 3 million tons of freight daily
Reverse logistics
 The Reverse Logistics Association (RLA) defines it
as “All activity associated with a product/service
AFTER the point of sale”.
 One of the main characteristics of reverse logistics
network problem is uncertainty that further amplifies
the complexity of the problem.
 The degree of uncertainty in terms of the capacities,
demands and quantity of products exists in reverse
logistics parameters.
 The goal is to expedite the repair process, leverage
their dynamic handling of blind receipts and
improved Reverse Logistics Planning, Repair Plan
and Kitting Plan to optimize cost and provide new
opportunities for revenue creation.
Benefits of an Efficient Reverse Logistics
Systems
 Reduced costs
 Faster service
 Customer retention
 Reduce Losses
Observation of the study
Transportation is the movement of goods and persons
from place to place and the various means by which
such movement is accomplished. The growth of the
ability and the need to transport large quantities of
goods or numbers of people over long distances at high
speeds in comfort and safety has been an index of
civilization and in particular of technological progress.

Two Different types of logistics:-

 Inbound Logistic
 Outbound Logistic
Inbound Logistics
Inbound Logistics is more related to Material
Management and Procurement where the incoming
delivery of raw materials and spare parts, from the
suppliers to the manufacturing plant is called inbound
logistics.

Outbound Logistics
Outbound Logistics is related to Customer Service and
Distribution Channels. The outward movement of final
or finished goods, from the company to the end user, is
known as Outbound Logistics.
Four types of Transportation System

 Road Transportation
 Rail Transportation
 Water Transportation
 Air Transportation
Major System in Road Transportation
Vehicle Tracking System(VTM)
A vehicle tracking system combines the use of automatic
vehicle location in individual vehicles with software that
collects these fleet data for a comprehensive picture of
vehicle locations. Modern vehicle tracking systems
commonly use GPS  or GLONASS technology for locating
the vehicle, but other types of automatic vehicle location
technology can also be used. Vehicle information can be
viewed on electronic maps  via the Internet or specialized
software .
Benefits of VTM
 Information and security
 Stolen vehicle recovery
 Asset tracking
 Transit tracking
 Distance Calculation
 Fuel Indicator
Cargo Handling Equipment
 Conveyors
 Cranes
 Jib Crane
 Bulk Crane
 Loader
 Industrial trucks
 Pallet
Conclusion
 Indian Logistics is continuously improving its
performance in the global logistics industry by
improvement of customs, trade infrastructure, inland
transit, transportation service and information system
help to provide trade goods and services on time and at
low cost.
 Indian logistic industry has low performance than
developed countries like USA, UK and other foreign
countries in global logistic sectors due in efficiency in
logistics services and highest among the low income
group countries.
 Operations with other logistical providers need to be
enhanced further for operational effectiveness, more
focus should be given customer delight and cost
effectiveness.
