PP-3210-01 A/B Introduction - Description • Centrifugal pump with Permanent Magnetic Drive, designed to meet full DIN EN 228585 and DIN EN ISO 15783 pump standards. • The anti-friction bearings are available with extended dimension (E) between the bearings to exceed their life time and also in oil lubricated design. • Horizontal single stage, foot mounted casing and intermediate lantern, back pull-out, radially split, end suction, top discharge, single suction. Introduction – Standard Material Individual Parts Material Material Volute casing 1.0619 (Carbon steel) 1.4408 (316 AUS) Impeller 1.4408 (316 AUS) Containment shell 2.4610 (Hastelloy C) Inner magnet motor 1.4571 (316 AUS) Pump shaft 1.7225 (AISI 4140) 1.4571 (316 AUS) Drive shaft 1.7225 (AISI 4140) Intermediate lantern 1.0619 (Carbon steel) Bearing bracket 1.0619 (Carbon steel) Introduction - Characteristics Introduction - Characteristics Introduction – Special Feature Journal Bearing Design • The axial and double radial Journal bearing made of “pure” Sintered Silicon Carbide (SSiC) in standard design is designed with the following features: ▫ Spherical locking sleeve for axial and radial centering. ▫ Bearing sleeves with a sphere for axial and radial centering. Introduction – Special Feature Journal Bearing Design ▫ Bearing bushes with double interference fit assembly to avoid axial torsion and radial displacement. ▫ Radial centering of the bearing sleeves in the axial thrust bearings in the same material (SiSiC) results in the same expansion factor over the complete temperature application range. ▫ No edge loads induced by radial loads at the surface of the bearing sleeves and the bearing bushes. Introduction – Special Feature Internal Flow & Pressures
• The well-defined pressurized internal flush flow, which is
fed into the area of magnetic drive, guarantees the necessary heat dissipation of the magnetic losses. Introduction – Special Feature Magnetic Drive System • The magnet drive system transmits the torque without slip by a permanent magnetic field. The magnets made of thermally stable samarium cobalt material (Sm2Co17) are suitable in standard for a maximum allowable operating temperature of 250°C (300°C). Introduction – Special Feature Magnetic Drive System • Special magnetic drive systems based also on Sm2Co17 material are suitable for an operating temperature up to 450°C. • The central assembly of the magnetic drive system over the journal bearing avoids moment loadings on the journal bearing, thus avoiding eccentric loading of the inner magnet rotor during startup and shut-down. Introduction - Nameplate • The following information is included in the nameplate of your pump unit: ▫ Serial number ▫ RPM ▫ Head ▫ Capacity ▫ Impeller diameter Operation, Inspection & Maintenance Startup Method: • 1. Before starting the pump, check the security of all bolting, piping, and wiring. • 2. Check all gauges, valves and instruments for proper working order. • 3. Check all equipment for proper lubrication and correct rotation. • 4. Verify that the discharge valve is closed. • 5. Open the suction valve. • 6. Open discharge valve and allow pump to fill with fluid (pump is self-venting). • 7. Keep the valves open approximately 60 seconds to ensure that pump is completely full of fluid. Operation, Inspection & Maintenance Startup Method: • 8. Close discharge valve. • 9. Uncouple the driver and the pump. • 10. Start, and IMMEDIATELY STOP, the driver and observe the rotation of the shaft. • 11. Correct rotation should be in direction of rotation arrow. • 12. Priming accomplished and correct shaft rotation established, the pump is ready for continued operation. • 13. Securely couple the driver and the pump, and ensure the discharge valve is open to approximately ¼ fully open. • 14. Start driver again, and completely open the discharge valve IMMEDIATELY when the operating speed has been reached. Operation, Inspection & Maintenance Checks with a running pump • Check the pump for smooth and vibration-free running. Unusual noises indicate a malfunction. • Check the oil level regularly for oil-lubricated ball bearings. • The oil level should be centered in the gauge glass and the constant level oiler should always be filled. • Check the temperature of the ball bearings at the bearing bracket measuring points specified by the manufacturer. It should not exceed 85°C. If the pump is equipped with temperature monitoring at the bearing outer ring, a maximum of 100°C is admissible. • Monitor the power consumption of the drive. Check if the installed monitoring devices are correctly connected and function properly. Operation, Inspection & Maintenance Troubleshooting Chart Operation, Inspection & Maintenance Lubricating the journal bearings • The journal bearings are lubricated by the pumped medium. The journal bearings are provided with a defined and sufficient amount of lubrication and work wear-free and maintenance-free for intended use and operation of the pump. We refer to the following specifications for monitoring the intended operation. Operation, Inspection & Maintenance Lubricating the ball bearings • Recommended Lubricant: ISO VG 68 non- detergent oil (turbine quality preferred). • Quantity: Approximately 2.8 L • Oil change: The first oil change must be conducted three weeks or 500h after initial commissioning. Then the oil change must be conducted at least annually. Operation, Inspection & Maintenance Lubricating the ball bearings • The oil change must be conducted as follows: ▫ Turn off the drive machine. ▫ Drain oil and clean the bearing bracket (Ident. no. 330) with a suitable cleaning agent. ▫ Remove the venting filter (Ident. no. 673) and add ¾ of the oil using a funnel. ▫ Remove the constant level oiler container (Ident. no. 638) and fill the bearing bracket with oil using the constant level oiler container. ▫ Attach the container to the constant level oiler ▫ Fill the container until it is filled to at least two thirds. Operation, Inspection & Maintenance • Pump assembly and disassembly method can be found inside pump operating and maintenance manual. • Upon pump disassembly, inspect all components for corrosion, erosion, pitting, and scoring. If required, replace with Ruhrpumpen O.E.M. genuine replacement parts. ▫ Visual check all individual parts for any damage. ▫ Check the case for wear. ▫ Check the impeller for wear. ▫ Check the radial clearance for wear. ▫ Check the antifriction bearings. ▫ Check all auxiliary piping. ▫ Check for transmission elements of the coupling.
