LIQUID MEASUREMENT

1) Liquid Meters

- Positive-Volume Meters
- Positive-Displacement Meters
- Turbine Meters
- Orifice Meters

2) Meter Factor

MF = Prover Reading
Meter Reading

3) Meter Proving

- Meters should be calibrated periodically in order to update meter

factors and evaluate meter accuracy.
LIQUID MEASUREMENT

4) Shrinkage Factor

- To correct oil volumes measured at pressures or temperatures different

from the standard condition.

5) Crude Oil Metering System

- Net Oil Detector

- Capacitance Probes
- Net Oil Computer

6) Net Oil Measurement Accuracy

CCF = TF x MF x GCF x FNOC

= Tank Oil Corrected to 60°F

LIQUID MEASUREMENT

7) Net Oil Detector Design

- Define the type of service, i.e. emulsion from production separator, test
separator, surge tank, stock tank or pump discharge.
- Define the liquid stream whether it is a homogeneous emulsion that can
be accurately metered or not.
- Determine the range of flowrates through the metering system.

8) Lease Automatic Custody Transfer (LACT) Unit

LACT units provide a means for the continuous and non-attended transfer
of crude oil, treated to sales specifications, to the pipeline carriers

Crude Oil Export Measurement

- Crude oil exports should be measured precisely.

- All metering operations of ADMA-OPCO are controlled
by the computer supervisory system (CSS).
- The crude oil metering station is fed by three 48 inch
headers connected to the fifteen crude meter runs.
- Crude oil meters are rotary vane-type turbine meters.
