INTRODUCTION

A courier service is a service that allows someone to send a parcel or consignment


from one location to another.

 Courier services are particularly useful for people that sell products online and need
a shipping solution for sending multiple parcels. 

Courier services are distinguished from ordinary mail and other modes of delivery
services based upon their speed, security, tracking features, swift delivery, etc.

OBJECTIVES OF STUDY

 To study the customer preference towards courier service in Cheyyar.

To study the factors that is affecting the choice of customer choosing a courier
service

To analyze the nature of goods that are used to transport by courier service

 To know whether the customer are satisfied with the guidelines and procedure
implemented by the courier service
Data collection method

PRIMARY DATA

112 responses for the questionnaire, prepared for this study, are collected from the customers of
courier service in Cheyyar.

SECONDARY DATA

Data is collected from respective courier service websites, and from research journals.

Customer preference: It represent the customer choice of agency for transporting goods

Customer behavior: It represent the type of goods customer regularly sends using courier service

Customer satisfaction: It reflect the customer satisfaction level with the current service.

SUGGESTIONS
 Most of the respondents are spending more than 5 min in courier agency; this
time could be reduced, which would avoid crowding, and would save customer
time.
 Most of the respondents are having nearby courier agency within 1 to 3 Km, and
many of their goods involve less than 500 g. Since the weight of the goods are
less, this goods can be picked by the courier agency from the door of the
customer itself. By doing this, the concentration of the agency could be reduced,
which would reduce both the capital and operating cost.

 Though many respondents felt that delivery agent are having necessary qualities,
the number was less (47.3%). This number is need to be improved for customer
satisfaction
