PANEL BOARD - There is no minimum height for a panel board in a one-

family dwelling. Section 555-6(a) has a minimum height of 24 inches
for distribution equipment in mobile homes.
FUSE - is an electrical safety device built around a conductive strip that is
designed to melt and separate in the event of excessive current.
CIRCUIT BREAKER - is an automatically operated electrical switch designed to protect an electrical
circuit from damage caused by excess current from an overload or short circuit.
FUSE RATING:

TYPES OF WIRE
●SOLID WIRE -

●STRANDED -

CONDUCTOR - electric current can flow freely.

INSULATOR -  it cannot allow current flow.
SIZE OF WIRE
#14 AWG. /2.5mm2 – FOR LIGHTING FIXTURES.
#12 AWG. /4.0mm2 – FOR POWER OUTLET.
#8 AWG /10mm2 - FOR MAIN LINE.
;;;;
#6 AWG /16mm2 - FOR MAIN LINE.

TW wire – Indicates a single conductor having flame-retardant, moisture-resistant thermoplastic

insulation. The wire is rated 60°C wet or dry.TW cable and wires are used generally in building
wiring, feeder and branch circuits, and internal secondary industrial distribution.
THHN - stands for "Thermoplastic High Heat-resistant Nylon-coated. THHN is a designation for a
specific insulation material, temperature rating, and condition of use (suitable for dry and damp
locations) for electrical wire and cable.
XHHW - stands for "XLPE (cross-linked polyethylene) High Heat-resistant Water-resistant."XHHW
is a designation for a specific insulation material, temperature rating, and condition of use
(suitable for wet locations) for electrical wire and cable.
THWN - stands for "Thermoplastic Heat and Water-resistant Nylon-coated." THWN is a
designation for a specific insulation material, temperature rating, and condition of use (wet
locations) for electrical wireand cable.
THW wire– Indicates a single conductor having flame-retardant, moisture
and heat-resistant thermoplastic insulation. The wire is rated 75°C wet or
dry.THW cable and wires are used generally in building wiring, feeder and
branch circuits, and internal secondary industrial distribution.
GOUND FAULT CIRCUIT INTERUPTER (GFCI) - monitors the amount of
current flowing from hot to neutral. If there is any imbalance, it trips the
circuit. The GFCI senses a mismatch as small as 4 or 5 milliamps, and
it can react as quickly as one-thirtieth of a second.
Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter device protects us from receiving electric
shocks from faults in the electrical devices we use in our home.

Is the ground wire necessary?
- The appliance will operate normally without the ground wire because it is not a
part of the conducting path which supplies electricity to the appliance. ... If the case
is grounded, a high current should flow in the appliance ground wire and trip the
breaker.
Why grounding is required?
- One of the most important reasons for grounding electrical currents is that it
protects your appliances, your home and everyone in it from surges in electricity. If
lightning was to strike or the power was to surge at your place for whatever reason,
this produces dangerously high voltages of electricity in your system.
THE REQUIRED MINIMUM FT. is 14FT. DEPTH
●STAINLESS IS THE BEST IN GROUNDING SYSTEM
GROUND - In electrical engineering, ground or earth is the reference point in an
electrical circuit from which voltages are measured, a common return path for
electric current, or a direct physical connection to the earth.
Electrical circuits may be connected to ground (earth) for several reasons. Exposed
metal parts of electrical equipment are connected to ground, so that failures of
internal insulation will trigger protective mechanisms such as fuses or
circuit breakers in the circuit to remove power from the device
