Human Excretory
System
A MODEL OF THE HUMAN EXCRETORY
SYSTEM HAS BEEN MADE USING
MODELLING CLAY.
Description
The excretory system of human brings includes a pair of kidneys, a pair of ureters, urinary bladder
and urethra. The urine is produced in the kidneys, passes through the ureters into the urinary bladder
where it is stored until it is released through the urethra.
1. Kidneys-:
Kidneys are the main organ of the human excretory system. Also, every individual has a pair of
kidneys. Kidneys are located in the abdomen, one on either side of the backbone. They contain the
nephrons, which are the basic filtration unit in the kidneys. The nephrons all function together to filter
blood and expel waste products.
Parts of nephron:
• Bowman’s capsule
• Proximal Convoluted Tubule
• The loop of Henle
• Distal Convoluted Tubule
• Collecting Duct
Description
2. Ureters-:
There is one ureter that comes out of each kidney. It is a thin muscular tube that carries urine from the
kidneys to the bladder.

3. Urinary Bladder-:
The bladder is a sac-like structure. And a smooth muscle layer lines it. It stores the urine until it passes to
the urethra.

4. Urethra-:
The urethra is a tube that arises from the urinary bladder. Its function is to expel the urine outside.
