Introduction
• A facility within a hospital where surgical operations are carried out in
a sterile environment. Operating rooms are spacious, easy to clean in
a cleanroom, and well-lit, typically with overhead surgical lights, and
may have viewing screens and monitors. Operating rooms are
generally windowless and feature controlled temperature and
humidity. Special air handlers filter the air and maintain a slightly
elevated pressure. Electricity support has backup systems in case of a
black-out. Rooms are supplied with wall suction, oxygen, and possibly
other anesthetic gases. Key equipment consists of the operating
table and the anesthesia cart.
•Critical Analysis is the process of systematically examining different
aspects of a situation to analyze gaps and the prospects from the
information conveyed by the situation.
•Critical Analysis helps in evaluation of gaps and analyze the cause and
solutions.
Objectives
General objective:
• To evaluate different aspects of operation theatre and critically analyze
the findings.
Specific objectives:
• To analyze current status of operation theatre.
• To evaluate and analyze infrastructure and huaman resources.
• To ensure maximum safety for patient and staff.
• To provide recommendation.
Rationale
• Operation theatre is important component of health system of Chitwan
medical college, Bharatpur municipality.

• Study type- Descriptive observational study

SWOT Analysis
• A swot analysis is a scan of internal and external environment of a
program.
• It is used to identify strength and weaknesses that are internal to a
program and opportunities and threats external to a program in the
environment in which it operates.

Conclusion
• As Chitwan Medical College is central, largest and famous hospital
providing service to patient, the operation theatre is an integral part of
the hospital.
• We completed SWOT analysis of operation theatre, there are many
strenghths and opportunities with weakness and threats.
• With specific plan and policies , operation theatre can be run in full
phase.
