Advance your professional development

We encourage all our members to engage in continuing professional development (CPD/CME) so

that they remain up to date and do their best for their patients.

The RCOG offers a specialised CPD/CME programme that enables participants to develop a tailored
professional development plan based on their individual needs. The plan focuses on:

• the maintenance of knowledge

• the enhancement of existing skills
• the development of new potential

All individuals have their own preferred methods of learning and the RCOG programme allows
flexibility in deciding the educational value of different CPD/CME activities and resources.
MRCOG exam support
The RCOG Associate package offers a range of resources which can support your O&G skills
development and your MRCOG exam preparation:
1. Keep up to date on O&G news and updates
As our exams are based on the UK system, our O&G news (newsletter) and O&G magazine can be
helpful for keeping up to date and gaining a better understanding of the UK healthcare system
and workforce debates.

2. Clinical guidance alerts and best practice papers

Associates receive alerts each time we publish and/or update our clinical guidance. These
updates can support good clinical practice and help you prepare for the MRCOG examination.

3. The Obstetrician and Gynaecologist (TOG) journal

The TOG SBAs (single best answers) can help you prepare for the exams by testing your
knowledge after research articles. We also recommend accessing this support as a continued
medical education (CPD) activity to support your O&G skills development and maintenance.
