1.1. BACKGROUND

Islam is the second most widespread religion next to
Christianity, practiced by 1.6 billion people.

Islam traces its creation date back on 7th
century, in Mecca.
·        
It is the third and major branch of monotheism

is the founder of Islam born in Mecca.

SAW stands for salla Allahu alayhi
wasalaam, which means ‘may the
blessings and peace of Allah be
upon him’
Prophet Muhammad
Orphaned at age of 6, his grandfather raised him. But,
when his grandfather died, his Uncle Abu Talib, head
of Hashim Clan, took care of him. He became a worker
under Khadija, a woman 15 years older than him. Later
on, she became one of his wives. She was the 1 st to
believe in his role as a prophet and accompanied him
in his spiritual journey.
