losing loved ones

This is a song of wisdom and acceptance. "Drenched in

my pain again, becoming who we are" – the realization
of the fact that everything we go through, all the pain and
losses, all the hardships we meet along the way are meant
to make us stronger and shape our personalities.

STORY
tells about Billie's father Joe Armstrong who died
of cancer on September 1, 1982. When he was 10
years old at that time

His father's funeral was too painful for him and he

broke down in tears. He left the funeral first, ran to
the house and locked himself in his room. When
the mother knocked on Billie's door, she shouted
"Wake me up when September ends”

Those words kept remembering in his head

and finally Billie poured out his feelings
through music 20 years afterwards in 2003.
