Production system steps:
1) Design / Sketch
A designer tasked with designing clothes and pouring his creativity into sketch paper.
2) Production of Design Patterns
Production patterns are patterns that will use for more clothing production.
3) Grading
The purpose of grading is to create patterns in different standard sizes name large, medium, and
small
4) Marker Making
Marker making is in charge of determining how long and wide (in yards) the fabric needed for each
design.
5) Cutting
The cloth that has been ordered is then cut with the help of a cutting machine or laser (cutting
machine) according to the type of fabric.
6) Sorting / Bundling
The sorting team sorted the patterns according to their size and design and then made the pile of
cloth into bundles.
7) Sewing / Assembling
The next process is sewing. Which in the end the parts of the clothes are sewn to form a complete
shirt.
8) Inspection
In this process, the stitches will be selected by quality control. Open stitches, incorrect sewing
techniques, unsuitable threads, and tangled threads can affect product quality.
9) Pressing / Finishing
In this process, several operators will move the string machine to tidy up wrinkled clothes so that
the clothes will look tidier.
10) Final Inspection
In this session, clothes will be selected for the last time. For the textile and clothing industry,
product quality is really concerned. For example color fading, open seams, loose buttons on
clothes, even torn fabrics.
11) Packing
Packing is the last process in which all products are packed according to size, design, and color
which will then be distributed to clothing shops.

The distribution channel at the USM GARMENT company
in distributing products to consumers uses two types of
distribution channels, namely:

Direct Distribution Channels

A way of delivering products to end consumers which are done by


the company itself without using intermediaries. USM GARMENT
companies in carrying out its product distribution activities are
directly carried out by the way the company opens a shop. USM
GARMENT company has a shop located around the company. The
shop is named "UGSS" USM GARMENT Smart Shopping. Some
consumers who live not far from the factory location prefer to come
and buy directly at the factory. These direct purchases are made in
cash by consumers.
Apart from opening a shop, direct distribution can also be done by ordering
directly from consumers. Consumers who place orders can take orders to
the company or distribution, namely the company can send ordered
products that the buyer has previously ordered.
The advantages of using direct distribution channels are:
The company can directly supervise the distribution of the product.
The delivery time is more punctual because the distribution is done directly
by the company.
Can know the market taste that is being favored by the Public.
The losses that are obtained if using direct distribution channels are as
follows:
The cost of distributing the product is relatively high.
If there is damage during distribution, the loss is borne by the company.
Indirect Distribution Channels

In the USM GARMENT company in product delivery, the USM


GARMENT company also uses indirect distribution channels,
namely the company uses intermediaries to distribute products
produced by the USM GARMENT company. In this distribution
channel, the USM GARMENT company involves retail
intermediaries, namely stores that sell goods to end consumers, or
as retailers. The intermediaries of USM GARMENT companies, in
general, are department stores in almost all parts of Indonesia.
Purchases are made in cash and credit with a maturity system.
