Locations

• In geography, location or place are
used to denote a region (point,
line, or area) on the earth's surface
or elsewhere. The
term location generally implies a
higher degree of certainty
than place, the latter often
indicating an entity with an
ambiguous boundary, relying more
on human or social attributes of
place identity and sense of place
 than on geometry.
Types of locations:-

• Retail.
• Retail
warehousing.
• Industrial.
• Office space.
Retail locations:-Enclosed shopping malls.
Open-air shopping centers.
Neighbourhood grocer/drug store center.
Pedestrian areas, such as downtown
shopping streets.
Freestanding kiosks or carts.
Retail warehousing:-
• They are most commonly found in the fringe of
towns or in out of town locations. Retail
warehouses may be stand-alone buildings, or may
be located on trading estates or parks.
Industrial:-
Industrial locations are complex in
nature. These are influenced by
the availability of many factors.
Some of them are: raw material,
land, water, labor, capital, power,
transport, and market. For ease of
convenience, we can classify
the location factors into two:
geographical factors and non-
geographical factors.
Office space

An office is generally a building, room or

other area where an organization's
employees perform admiistrative work in
order to support and realize objects and
goals of the organization.
High street
location
High Street is a common street name for the primary
business street of a settlement, especially in the
United Kingdom and Commonwealth of Nations. It implies
that it is the focal point for business, especially shopping.
It is also a metonym for the retail sector.
Free standing • This type of retail location is any stand-
alone building. It can be tucked away in a
location neighbourhood or right off a busy
highway. Free-standing locations come in
many sizes and can be appropriate for any
type of retail business.
Shopping
center / mall
locations
Shopping center

• A shopping center is a group of shops

built together, sometimes under one
roof. Shopping centre, also
called shopping mall, or shopping plaza,
20th-century adaptation of the historical
marketplace, with accommodation made
for automobiles. A shopping centre is a
collection of independent retail stores,
services, and a parking area conceived,
constructed, and maintained by a
management firm as a unit. Shopping
centres may also contain restaurants,
banks, theatres, professional offices,
service stations, and other
establishments.
